10. Half-Life 2
Half-Life 2 is the sequel to 1998′s ground breaking revolutionary first-person perspective game, Half-Life. Developed by Valve Corporation, it was released for PC on November 16th, 2004, to near universal acclaim. The game has earned over 35 game of the year awards, and has been ported to the Xbox and Mac. It was also included in The Orange Box, which additionally brought the game to the Xbox 360, and PS3.
09. Bioshock
Bioshock is inspired by themes in Ayn Rand’s novel Atlas Shrugged. At the time of it’s release, Bioshock was lauded by critics for its peerless storytelling and fascinating story. To enhance the story beyond what is directly experienced by the player, Bioshock uses audio diaries.
08. Gears of War
Gears of War is a third person shooter developed by Epic Games and published by Microsoft Game Studios for the Xbox 360. Receiving tremendous critical acclaim and various awards from multiple publications, Gears of War quickly became one of the most successful titles on the Xbox 360, selling more than 4 million copies worldwide since its launch in November of 2006. The game was later released for the PC with Games for Windows LIVE support along with new game modes, multiplayer maps and other additional content. A sequel titled Gears of War 2 was released in November of 2008 and the rights to a film adaptation have been acquired by New Line Cinema.
07. Mass Effect
Mass Effect is a third-person science-fiction action RPG developed by BioWare and published by Microsoft for the Xbox 360 on November 20, 2007 and later published by Electronic Arts for the PC on May 28, 2008 and finally available as part of the Mass Effect Trilogy-set on the PlayStation 3.

Portal 2 is a first-person puzzle game developed by Valve and published by Valve (for the PC and Mac via Steam) and Electronic Arts (for the PC, Mac, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3 via retail); it was released on April 19th, 2011. The sequel plays out over nine chapters and builds upon the physics-based puzzles of the first game by including a variety of new gameplay mechanics, such as laser beams that can be redirected by special cubes, zero-gravity funnels that can be redirected by portals, launch pads, and paint-like substances that change the properties of the surface it covers.
